On a hill in Union County, Illinois, just outside of Cobden, stands a home with a story embroidered into the fabric of the rural landscape it dominates.
Like traveling to a different time, each day spent in this home resonates the rich history of the land and the people who loved it.
Only a few families have owned Bell Hill over the last century.
James Bell, the original owner, made a fortune in timber.
Just after the Civil War, the growing towns and cities needed trainloads of lumber to satisfy the need.

Historic Bell Hill is located 14 1/4 miles south of Carbondale, Illinois and the Southern Illinois University and five miles north of Anna, Illinois on New Route 51.
Turn at Rossi's Service Station onto Poplar Street.
Stay to your left and Poplar Street becomes Bell Hill Road.
Watch for the Historic Bell Hill Bed & Breakfast and Wedding Venue sign at the top of the hill on the left.
Exit onto Route 146 toward Anna, Illinois for 5 miles.
At the 2nd set of traffic lights in Anna turn right onto Route 51 and follow 5.4 miles to Bell Hill Road for 1 1/4 mile and to your right you will see the Historic Bell Hill Wedding Venue sign.
