My parents owned a flower shop in the San Francisco area so needless to say I have been arranging flowers for a long time. Thinking my floral career would be put on hold after we moved to Bainbridge Island, I sold all my floral supplies to a flower buddy. With encouragement of family and friends I once again started my own floral design firm, Melanie Benson Floral.

I thoroughly enjoy a trip to the wholesale market where I select flowers by color, texture and uniqueness. It is always worth a ferry ride to be among such beautiful fresh blooms.
