We just cried all over again. How did you do it?!?! You captured the spirit; the love; the joy; the laughter; the excitement; I mean just everything. How can we ever thank you?!. You represent the top 5% of wedding photographers on Wedding Wire and The Knot. The Couples' Choice Award honors the exemplary work you've done over the past year and the highly regarded reputation you've established with your clients.

There are so many different wedding photography styles and even though my own personal style is best described as editorial/documentary I am experienced in all styles and always cater my wedding photography to my couple's preference and usually incorporate several styles throughout the wedding day.

Sally Carpenter is a Vermont wedding and portrait photographer based in Woodstock, Vermont and serving all of Upstate New York, Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire with photo-journalistic, candid, editorial, classical and fine art wedding and portrait photography.Although I am accomplished and well known as a fine art portrait photographer, the emphasis of my photography is on the candid and journalistic style.
Services
All sessions allow for wardrobe and location changes.
They are fun and comfortable and usually carried out in the relaxed environment of "Featherstone" in Woodstock, Vermont or your own home or place of choice; perhaps your favorite park, hiking trail or local landmark.
My "studio" is portable and I do a lot of my portraits in natural light situations, incorporating both dramatic studio light and natural daylight whenever possible.
Bring your best friend or your pet, it is about having fun, feeling relaxed and enjoying the day.
Saying to a professional photographer "That is a great photo, what kind of camera do you have?" is rather like saying to a cook."That was a great meal, what kind of oven do you use?"
The best and most expensive photography equipment in the world will not make someone a great photographer, however, having high end professional photography gear will certainly help make the quality of the images a lot better.
It is also important to have back up gear, lots and lots of it!
Accidents happen and not only might we need to grab one of the back up cameras, we might need to do it in a hurry, so we always keep an extra camera case, just full of our back up photography equipment with us during the wedding ceremony and reception.
We received our flash drive.
WOW, WHOA, AMAZING, PERFECT are all words that describe how we feel about the pictures.
You and Gael did an amazing job capturing our perfect day so we can relive it over and over for years to come.
Wedding photography has certainly changed over the years and when I first started out photographing weddings, we used film and captured those rich vibrant colors with the dramatic lights and darks.
With digital wedding photography, the styes and editing techniques are endless and we can accomplish almost anything from the desaturated, bright and airy photos that some couples prefer to the more film quality style as shown in my dramatic/cinematic wedding gallery.
We always incorporate documentary style photos in our wedding photography as we feel the story telling aspect of the wedding day is so important.
We want our couples to not only have some of those "wow" editorial images but many emotional wedding photographs as well.
Those are the photos that stir up the memories and touch the heart.
Photojournalistic style wedding photography of a destination elopement in the California desert.
Documentary wedding photography is the art of storytelling through a collection of individual images that depict genuine, emotional moments throughout your wedding day.
I love photographing the wedding details, they add so much to your wedding album whether it is a rustic style wedding in a Vermont barn or glamorous event at Hildene, Manchester, VT.
One of the main details we always photograph are the wedding rings.
Wedding rings are a symbol of eternal love, the wedding ring has been about for centuries and still as important as ever.
While the design of weddings rings is becoming more modern in many cases, the tradition and symbolism of the ring is as strong today as it's ever been.
