Today I am really excited to post Callie & Greg's wedding from The Barn at Oakboro! I have been looking forward to sharing these images since the wedding day and it was so great to work with this wonderful couple. Callie and Greg are family and I was really excited to be shooting their wedding and seeing some old friends for the first time in many years.
These two are super photogenic, as you can see by their engagement session I shot last fall (you can see that here), as well as Callie's bridal (seen here). The wedding day was perfect weather wise and The Barn at Oakboro was a wonderful venue/setting for their nuptials! Callie and Greg decided to do a first look, which I really love to shoot because it is always great to capture that first "glimpse" that couples have of one another on the wedding day.
I love the warmth of the shots and how much the barn and landscape flow throughout the images. I wanted to frame Callie and Greg within these rustic elements and show just how much they love each other.

Telling a story - that is photography to me.
In fact, I would consider myself as much a historian as a photographer.
After college I began my professional life as a high school history teacher.
At some point I began to find both pleasure and extreme satisfaction in documenting personal history, as opposed to lecturing about it in a classroom.
That is exactly how I see photography, not just images and posing/lighting, but as a historical event.
Each session and wedding I shoot is as unique as the people in front of my camera.

If you are looking for a place to shoot your bridal session, Separk Mansion may be one of the best places for all around awesomeness!
Now that Dawn's wedding is over I can finally post the images from her bridal session.
We met up at Separk Mansion in Gastonia to shoot this session and the venue did not disappoint.
Time for a bridal session post!
I started thinking about some of my favorite places to shoot and it occurred to me that I should post something from The Saratoga Springs!
I really LOVE the images from a recent bridal session I shot in Gastonia.

Today is the day of newborn posts, my second one to post on this day alone!
I am trying to get caught up on the blogging and post some of the sessions I have shoot over this past summer.
I love watching kids grow up right before my camera!
It just seemed like yesterday that I was taking Hutch's newborn photos and now he has already turned 1-year old!
Recently, I was so happy to be shooting the newborn session for the baby of one of my former couples!
So what is the best compliment a photographer can receive?

I am on a mission to roll out a new blog post everyday this week!
The holiday season of sessions is winding down, so the time has come to show off some of my awesome clients and their families!
I've been moving around to new locations this year.
One of the places I have frequented is an old barn and farm house that has this wonderful overgrown field.
Today I am featuring a family session that is both rustic and rich with color!
I wanted something different for this family, so I found an old barn and field to act as my canvas.

Some time ago I decided that I would create a behind-the-scenes video to show future clients more about how I shoot weddings.
I am very excited and honored to have one of my weddings selected and featured on the Wedding Concierge!
Partying!
These are but a few words that come to mind when I think of all the weddings I have had the pleasure of working over the last 10 seasons.
Today begins a new series of posts that highlight area wedding professionals, as well as help couples better plan their wedding and pick quality vendors who will make their big day perfect.
