Poplar Hill is a scenic country wedding venue in Blackstone, Virginia. We offer rustic charm, and the privacy of rural farm life for a simple yet elegant wedding. The main event space is surrounded by several hundred acres of farmland and pastures, with stunning natural views from every corner. The Poplar Hill farmhouse was build in the 1790s by Captain Thomas Epes, with most recent restorations dating back to 1950.
The farm has its original character, but has been equipped with modern amenities for a modern affair. Whether you want an intimate elopement or a nature-inspired grand event, Poplar Hill is an ideal wedding venue for you. Poplar Hill owner/operator, Bernie Fournier, has been in the wedding industry for over 6 years. Contractor by trade, Bernie restored Poplar Hill to its original character.
Over his 20+ career as a contractor, he has restored many homes. However, his love of older homes truly shines through with Poplar Hill. During weddings he is always available throughout the day to make sure everything is running smoothly.

The bridal party will have partial access to the house, we offer a well appointed bridal suite.
For your wedding or event we have created beautiful ceremony gardens amidst the crape myrtles, boxwoods and hackberry trees, not to mention the many flowers and detailed beds throughout.
For the reception we built a large pavilion with an extended patio overlooking the back pastures, and let's not forget the horses!
There are numerous photo spots throughout the property that you are welcome to use for photo sessions, engagement pictures and such, even if you don't book with us.

All decor is to be removed from the property immediately after the event unless otherwise agreed upon.
Smoking areas should be designated if you expect smokers at your event.
Please be sure to provide an area for butts to be properly disposed of ( a bucket of sand is a good option ).
