While some may think the name "B&W" comes from Black and White photography or possibly the fact Larry and Jeff own black and white 4Runners. Our name actually comes from our last names, Larry Bartel and Jeff Wendling. Larry started his photography journey shooting a few weddings for family and taking photos at his job with the local college. Then he started his photography studio back in 2007.
For seven years his reputation in the wedding market grew, photographing numerous weddings, including one for a national award-winning songwriter. Jeff started his own photography journey in college with his wife Tyffany, as they formed their studio T&J Studios. Quickly growing into one of the premier wedding and portrait studios in the mid-west. During that time, they were featured in The Knot five times and were on Grace Ormonde's platinum list.
In 2012, while expecting their first child, Jeff and Tyff decided to sell their studio and take some time with their new family. While their journeys in photography started separately, Larry and Jeff were friends in the industry over the years.
