In Winter of 2013, David Hahn embarked on a journey to the Texas Hill Country for a singular vision; to create the perfect venue. Drawing upon 20 years of designing weddings and events at the highest level at the finest resorts and venues around the globe, it was upon his first step onto the property that he recognized the perfection of the ranch for extraordinary weddings and events.

Aesthetically, logistically and experientially, King River Ranch is simply a flawless venue for both clients and vendors. David was not the first to sense something special in this land. Upon this very spot, generations of Native Americans lived and thrived along these same river banks dating back millenia. The Hahn family was joined at King River Ranch by the Oertli family, Amy Crowson (Venue Director) and Chrissy Oertli (Venue Manager) in 2017.

They've been in your shoes! Equipped with many years of experience in the wedding, venue and hospitality industries, they have complemented David's vision for the ranch so beautifully with impeccable taste, unwavering dedication and great competence in making the King River Ranch experience memorable and satisfying for all our clients and their guests.

When comparing venues, King River Ranch is one of the most affordable and stunning venues in the Texas Hill Country.
Whether you have a small budget (making great use of our in-house decor and naturally beautiful space), a large budget (amazing florals, a designer dress, and a well-known wedding planner), or anything in between, King River Ranch may be the ideal fit for your wedding day.
No hidden fees.
We tell you everything you need to know so you can make the best decision for you & your budget.
At King River Ranch, most of our couples are planning a destination wedding.
We've had many couples from Houston, Dallas, Midland, and some as far as Australia, California, Alaska, and Washington D.C.
With that, we quickly saw the need to offer on-site accommodation options to our couples.
While there are more than enough places to stay nearby, (be sure to check out our Texas Hill Country Guide which makes it easy to live like a local), many of our couples and their families have jumped at the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of King River Ranch for more than just their wedding day.
Initially we allowed outside catering, because honestly most venues don't and we didn't understand why!
It seems like a great benefit to allow outside catering.
The truth is, after years of allowing any caterer under the sun to waltz through our door, we realized that not a workable business model if quality food and a quality experience is important to our couples and their guests.
Some caterers were amazing, but some were clearly in it for the money and not the couple like when we asked, do you help with XYZ and the caterer responded "they didn't pay for that."
I cannot say enough wonderful things about KRR! From the moment I saw it, I knew it was the perfect venue for me to live out my childhood dreams of getting married on a ranch in Texas.
Our wedding far exceeded our expectations.
The ceremony site is absolutely stunning- I'll always remember the view of the river and the sun shining down on the trees as my husband and I shared our vows.
The day was dark, cloudy, and windy, but as soon as I walked down the aisle, the clouds parted the sun came out.
To reserve a date, email us at events@thekingriverranch.com saying you are ready to book XYZ date if it is still available.
We suggest you email us stating you are ready to book your preferred date and then include a backup date in case your preferred date is unavailable.
Prior to booking a date, we hope you are able to come out in person to visit the ranch.
You can request a tour (or a Facetime tour if you live out of the area) on our tour request page, but an in person tour is not required prior to booking a date.
