The Minden Opera House is a one of a kind venue for weddings, receptions, reunions, conferences, meetings, dances, parties, and more! Our mission is to entertain the public, inspire future generations, and promote the arts in a majestic venue. Constructed in 1891, the Minden Opera House was viewed as a historical tribute to area arts and culture. It was completely renovated in 1999-2000 to serve as an attractive center for both the community and the region.
At MOH not only do we host first-rate performances by the Minden Community Players, but we bring in high-quality performances by professional artists from all over the world. Our beautiful facility is also available to rent for business meetings, conferences, weddings, recitals, family reunions, company parties, receptions and much more. Contact us today for more information!

The Minden Opera House is largely sustained by the memberships we receive from our generous patrons.
While we are incredibly proud of the arts entertainment that we provide, ticket sales alone cannot cover our operational expenses.
Only about 25% of our annual income is generated from tickets.
Approximately 60% of our revenue comes from memberships, grants and donations - in other words, from the generous contributions of people just like you who believe in MOH and what we do.
Your support is absolutely critical in order for us to continue to provide arts experiences in Minden and beyond.

Is your business looking for a great marketing opportunity?
Or do you, as an individual, want to help support the Minden Opera House in our mission to provide quality entertainment at a reasonable rate?
Many of the acts that we book to perform cost a great deal of money and sometimes ticket sales alone do not cover these costs.
We rely heavily on support from both business and individuals and would greatly appreciate your assistance in paying for the programs that we bring to MOH.
If you are interested in hearing more about these programs, we would be thrilled to talk to you in person.

You can donate commodities such as corn to the Minden Opera House rather than donating after the sale.
By transferring legal ownership of the grain to MOH before it is sold, you can avoid the taxable income from that sale AND you are still able to deduct the entire cost of the production of the commodity on Schedule F. Depending on the producer's circumstances, savings may be realized on federal and state income tax and self-employment tax.
You MUST provide written documentation to the elevator or sale barn to to transfer title of the commodity.

I got my first Brownie Hawkeye Camera when I was eight and in the third grade.
By the fifth grade I had read a book about wildlife photography and I was hooked.
I have had many cameras since that first Brownie, but for the past almost twenty years, I have taken most of the pictures you see here with a Tamron AF 70-300mm Tele-Macros Lens attached to my Pentax K100D Camera Body purchased from the Camera Doctor in Kearney after I retired from my Associate Dean of Students' position at Hastings College in 2002.
