I am both owner and lead photographer of Silver Orchid Photography. I am a wife, mother, entrepreneur, lover of jeans, the beach, and time spent with my family. I am both a portrait and wedding photographer and have a passion for photography that has no limits to its subjects.
My studio is in Skippack, PA, but I shoot on location throughout Pennsylvania and the tri-state area. While my expertise is as a wedding and family portrait photographer, my passion is truly for capturing the spirit, joy, and beauty of every person I photograph.

A photo where everyone is looking as smiling is nice (and definitely wall worthy), but its those in between shots that inevitably become your favorites.
Everything I do is custom, so I welcome your ideas for your session.
I usually stick to fairly simple props (if any at all), but welcome anything that is special and personal.
Limit prints in clothing to one person (maybe two people if it's a small print) and then base the rest of the outfits around that.

My favorite time to photograph a newborn is within the first 3-10 days after birth.
Babies are still super sleepy, and still as smushy as they were in the womb.
They usually sleep very heavily, and those early days tend to be before the onset of any possible baby acne or colic.
All of these factors make for a more calming session, and it also makes the more difficult poses possible.
Beyond 2 weeks of age, poses that require the baby to be in a deep sleep may become impossible.
This is a perfect time to capture their beautiful baby skin tone and their true smallness.
