Craig grew up in Barbados, West Indies and started professional photography of motor sport events as a teenager.
He studied photography at the West Surrey College of Art & Design in England and returned to Barbados in 1974. He shot documentary images of island life for publisher Thomas Nelson, motor sport, portraits, weddings and 45 inch view camera images of scenery and fine mahogany furniture. Craig was honored to photograph Queen Elizabeth II during her visits to Barbados in 1975 and during her Silver Jubilee tour in 1977 when she returned to England on her first flight on Concorde.
Craig and his wife Jackie arrived in California at the end of 1981 and after working in a local photo lab as a printer and supervisor Craig returned to full time photography in 1987 doing 45 imaging for interior designers.
