Hickory Ridge Venue
There is a 4200 square foot log home, a 1200 square foot guest house, and an 1800 square foot recreation barn for indoor use. 80 acres means privacy, unlimited creativity, and plenty of places to explore and relax. There are many places on the property to actually hold the wedding ceremony, and you get to choose. We have space at the main house for smaller gatherings such as rehearsal dinners, or smaller wedding parties.

In the rec barn, we can seat 150 under roof. Hickory Ridge is an 80 acre country estate, a foothills farm, a mini lake resort, and the world headquarters of Hearthstone, one of the premier log and timber home manufacturer in the world. It's also yours for a wedding or event that nobody will ever forget. It is so unique and flexible, it excels at anything from country-elegant, to black tie, to blue jeans and boots (or barefoot).

There is no venue quite like it in the Southeast, and perhaps anywhere else for that matter. It's also about 30 seconds (depending on where you're standing), by foot, to Douglas Lake.
Services
We are a down to earth family with a deep passion for the property, homes, and buildings we have been so fortunate to have developed over the years.
We want other people to have the opportunity to experience our property.
So, we open it for a limited number of occasions per year, and we hope one of them will be yours!
Hickory Ridge is the home of the Giles family and the headquarters of their company, Hearthstone, Inc., designer, manufacturer, and builder of spectacular log and timber frame structures.
The Big House was built in 2000 out of gigantic logs and done in the style of a Dog Trot Tavern from the 1800's.
It's been featured in multiple national, regional, and local magazines and it's the ultimate in Appalachian charm, but with eclectic design and furnishings that bend and blend to almost any style of wedding and event.
It's a 4 bedroom home that is opened for special events and weddings and is available in whole, or in part, depending on your needs.
It comes with a professional style kitchen, large dining room, living room, patio, porches, fire pit, and more.
The Little House was built in 1985, and is one of the most interesting small homes you'll ever see.
The basic footprint is only 18' x 24', but it is on 3 levels with bedrooms on the top and lower (walk-out) floor and living-dining-porches on the main floor.
The Little House, too, has been featured in multiple magazine articles.
We'll figure out a spot for your wedding, and a rain-default option.
You have access to most of the property from 10 AM to 10 PM.
For the before, during, and after the wedding ceremony, you'll have access to the Little House, and the public parts of the Big House.
For your reception party, you have access to the Dining and Dancing Barn.
All of that is a bit flexible according to your needs.
That would include several hours of prior consultation about how you want to use the property and two or more people on-hand to assist.
We can include the Little House for overnight the night before, and the public parts of the big house for a few hours for the rehearsal dinner for a basic fee of $850, plus a $500 refundable damage deposit.
We can provide catering or other services in addition to that depending on what you want to do.
