Congratulations on your upcoming wedding or renewal! Since 2009, I have officiated nearly two thousand weddings and have enjoyed every minute of it. This is your special day, and my job is to write a beautiful ceremony that you, and your guests, will remember and enjoy. Over the past 13 years, I have officiated weddings from Santa Cruz to Big Sur, from Monterey to Pacific Grove and everywhere in between.
Every wedding is special, and I always feel so grateful to be a part of a couple's special day. As a non-denominational wedding officiant, I will work with you to create the exact ceremony that you want. I am always available to answer any questions - even if it is just about the area or other local vendors. I have been involved with weddings since 1989, lived in the area since 1993, and have enjoyed providing memorable wedding experiences as an officiant and planner.
Since 2012, I have been named as one of the top 5% wedding officiants in Monterey County. I have been a part of weddings at every wedding venue and event space in Monterey County.

Services
I love weddings.
For the longest time, I have had a strong desire to make people happy.
It started with writing a book about the romantic charms of the San Francisco Bay Area and eventually grew into a business, Romantic Celebrations, that my wife and I own together.
Through assisting thousands of people with celebrating anniversaries, honeymoons and marriage proposals, we began to work with couples to make wedding arrangements.
I have been officiating weddings since 2009.
Thank you for thinking of me to be a part of your special celebration.

Every ceremony that I write is customized for you based on our communication (email, phone), face-to-face interview (when possible) and your wedding questionnaire.
For types of rituals that can be performed during your wedding ceremony e.g.
Below are some examples of recent wedding/renewal ceremonies.
Please keep in mind that custom written ceremonies are all different (these aren't templates below -- they were custom written based on emails / phone calls / meetings with the couple).
If you decide on my Love and Marriage ceremony, there is an example as well, below.

Since I began officiating, I have believed in keeping my prices reasonable.
On average, professional wedding officiants (actual officiants - not "Craigslist Clergy" - and experienced persons with 200+ weddings officiated) in California charge an average of $400 for a non custom ceremony (without planning) and about $500 - $800 for one that is custom written.
My pricing is based on whether you would like a beautiful, pre-written ceremony or if you would prefer a ceremony that has been custom written just for you.

Getting married or renewing your vows is not something you do every day.
Feel free to ask me any questions by calling or emailing me.
Q: How much advance notice do you need in order to book a wedding?
I try to be as flexible as possible and have been called upon with as little as 1 days notice.
For prime wedding months (May-September), I would recommend contacting me about 6 months in advance if possible.
Q: Where do you perform your services?
I have officiated weddings all over Monterey and Santa Cruz County - from parks and beaches to back yards and vacation rentals.

You're engaged and have decided to get married somewhere in Monterey County.
Now what?
The most frequent question we get is about how to begin the process, and what paperwork needs to be filed.
Before you can get married, you need to get a marriage license.
The good news is that this can be obtained from any county clerks office within the State of California.
Both parties (future spouses) need to go into the county clerk together (you can't go separately).
Typically, you don't need to make an appointment but it's always a good idea to check with the county clerks office.
