Couples spend hours considering reception details to make sure their guests have an amazing time at their wedding. But they often see the ceremony as something the guests have to suffer through before they can get a drink. What if your ceremony could be a gift? A chance for people to renew their own understanding of love and commitment, or simply a time to set down the cares of the weary world and fill their hearts.

A ceremony authentic to you and the moment is soul food. After the wedding, we had so many guests tell us the same thing, our ceremony was nothing like they'd ever witnessed before. They told us the ceremony was so heartfelt and filled with love, it was impossible to not get swept up into it. To begin, you must (re)discover what marriage means to you-it's not the same for any two couples.

It would be my honor to be your guide. My process leads you and your partner inward so that you can articulate the magic of your shared life, values, and vision for the future. We'll develop a radically present wedding ceremony that no one will ever forget.

I'm Maureen Cotton, an Interspiritual Reverend.
It would be my honor to be your guide.
My process leads you and your partner inward so that you can articulate the magic of your shared life, values, and vision for the future.
We'll develop a radically present wedding ceremony that no one will ever forget.
In the mystic heart found within the world's religions.
The universality of principles like compassion and a guiding community members through life's thresholds has been coined as 'Interspirituality' by Brother Wayne Teasdale.
Many couples cite my voice and presence as a main reason they wanted me to be their officiant.
Get a sense of both over on Instagram where I do live reflections on site after ceremonies, and post filmmakers' clips.
The groom and his family are devout Catholics while the bride and her family are atheist, and culturally Jewish.
They desired a ceremony that fully honored each other's beliefs while still feeling true to each of them as people.
They wanted it to be both rich and inclusive with rituals familiar to both sides of the family.
Many of the couples I work with consider having a friend officiate their wedding.
They want a friend to do it because they want it to be personal.
However, not everyone has someone in their life who knows how to write a ceremony, craft a ritual, get the attention of 100+ people, or what details make for a smooth event.
I'm able to offer experience, presence, and professionalism on top of a customized personal ceremony.
All the couples I work with say the wedding was so much about them they almost feel like I've known them for years!
Learn what's possible for your ceremony and reduce the burden on them, all while making the most of their personal touch.
This coaching package is an experience for couples-half reflective and half fun, decisive planning.
The result is a detailed blueprint for your deeply meaningful wedding ceremony.
Your officiant will bring a beautiful personal perspective, but there's much more to planning and performing a ceremony than telling a great story in front of a crowd.
Here's the truth: Most couples ask a friend to officiate then wait until the last couple months to earnestly work on the ceremony.
The focus of the ceremony is always on you two and your community.
What does marriage mean to you?
What do you want your family and friends to feel as they partake in this life-changing event?
It can take many forms including being fully secular, spiritual-but-not-religious, or a blending of faith traditions (interfaith).
I'm a new kind of reverend, an Interspiritual Reverend.
I've studied and prayed in many of the world's religious traditions, which informs my personal commitment to spiritual work.
