A friend asked me to help with her wedding and accidentally introduced me to a whole new career. It's also why I fight the Wedding Industrial Complex. I do this through a newsletter, a podcast, an event, and my own writing (on my blog, at various publications, and for other wedding vendors). I also wrote a book about how to plan a wedding that's in line with your values.

I wrote a book!
At first, that word "etiquette" weirded me out until I realized that when handled responsibly, etiquette can be an extremely effective tool in making wedding planning less gross (my ultimate goal).
The book is what's known as a "planner."
That means it has interactive worksheets and activities for couples to do together as they plan their wedding.
If you found me through the free resources on my website, you're going to love this book.
I equate the book to my honors thesis in wedding planning.
To help people feel less overwhelmed and isolated as they plan their weddings, I've made the resources I use professionally available for free.
I hope they help you have the wedding you want.
Wedding Planning Prioritization Exercise: I created this worksheet as a way to help set a couple up for success as they plan their wedding.
Fill it out together or fill it out separately and compare notes.
The point is to have a conversation about what planning a wedding means to you as a couple.
Timeline: There are exactly two billion wedding day timelines on the internet so, for my version of one, I tried to offer all of the "inside scoop" details that help me figure out how the day will flow.
I have a vendor friend named Marissa Solini.
She's a photographer and from Day 1 of her business, she has donated 5 percent of every booking to charity.
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society: Helps people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) live their best lives as the Society stops MS in its tracks, restores what has been lost, and ends MS forever.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: The largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers with the goal of curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families.
One of the best ways I know to fight the WIC is to work with fellow wedding vendors.
My thinking here is that wedding vendor is going to have a much larger ripple effect in our industry than a couple if only because a vendor works more weddings.
If you want more timely updates, please sign up for my newsletter and follow me on Instagram.
I only send and post when I have something to say.
I offer both have a series of templates that I personally use in my work as well as articles that I wrote to answer specific questions that couples often ask as they plan their wedding.
These are my observations from working in the wedding industry.
In this line of work, I've lied about being engaged, realized what makes the best wedding gift, and learned the question that tells me if a couple will make it.
My clients often feel isolated as they plan their weddings.
They can't talk about the hard parts because people think they're complaining, ungrateful, or second-guessing their choice.
