I'm Alex & I specialize in joyful, candid wedding photos. I'm a modern Knoxville wedding photographer but you'll often find me photographing weddings in Chattanooga, Nashville, & all over the Southeast. I'm not your run-of-the-mill wedding photographer. I'm a spunky go-getter that's dedicated to capturing those crazy moments at your wedding. As a Knoxville wedding photographer, I'm all about people and moments.
It's the reason I became a wedding photographer to begin with! I spend most of my day focusing on documenting candid moments at the wedding. I don't want you to smile at me during your first look or to look at me during the ceremony. I'll be there capturing the authentic wedding moments that you'll love. When it comes to portraits, I use my laid back approach to create relaxed, natural looking photos.
I won't leave you awkwardly standing there wondering what to do with your hands. I'll give you direction, but I'll keep things happy and sweet. If you are looking for a photographer to make you look like a dramatic fashion model, I'm not your girl.

A few years ago, a photographer friend told me I love how you capture so many smiles.
It's a rare thing now-a-days.
I thought that was such a weird compliment.
I photograph weddings- of COURSE I photograph smiles & happy people.
But he was right.
There are so many different wedding photography styles- traditional, glamorous, edgy, etc.
I began to realize that my specialty truly is joyful wedding photography.
I'm a storyteller at heart.
You'll see that my portfolio is filled to the brim with happy, genuine moments.

I love my clients & I especially adore Heather & Matt.
You can tell because I started photographing this Tennessee Riverplace wedding at 6:30am IN THE MORNING!
I am not a morning person, but I woke up ready to & excited to document Heather & Matt's brunch wedding.
I knew this was going to be a fun day when Heather & Matt did vodka shots at 8am just after their first look.
Those images ended up being one of my favorite of the day!
This couple infused their wedding day with their own personality every step of the way.

Alex & Tyler's Knoxville engagement session is the perfect example of why I schedule sessions one hour before sunset.
Sometimes I receive a slight pushback when I say I like to shoot the last hour of sunlight.
Many people think it might be too dark.
I promise you, this time of day gives you the best chance for outstanding photos.
Alex & Tyler's engagement session shows off all of the reasons why this is my favorite time to photograph!
I hope you enjoy and see just how lovely the light can be when you plan your session around it.

Jeff & I decided last fall that it was time to be closer to friends & family so we made plans to make the move from Chattanooga to Knoxville.
We haven't lived in our hometown of Knoxville since we both left for college.
We went from Nashville to Chattanooga.
If you are an already booked wedding client, nothing is changing on your end except it might be a little bit harder to arrange in-person meetings in Chattanooga.
Of course there will be no additional travel fees added or anything like that.

Cait & Rob eloped during the peak of the fall leaves in Appalachia.
Driving up their rented cabin, I was so excited to capture these wonderful folks becoming a family.
I enjoy nothing more than taking a long drive into the mountains to photograph happy people.
As a Knoxville elopement photographer, intimate ceremonies hold a special place in my heart.
There's something magical about spending the day without any of the stress or expectations of a huge wedding.
I'm all about elopements!
Cait rocked a beautiful Modcloth dress & I adored her dried flower bouquet.
