Reno-based Caricaturist/Cartoonist Jeff Hickman does other things besides his weekly Editorial Cartoon in the Sunday Reno Gazette-Journal. He also takes on Caricature/Illustrative projects for companies and advertising agencies. He gets commissions for Caricature Portraits from families and individuals. But his specialty is creating Caricatures in a live setting like private parties and special events.

Reno-based artist Jeff Hickman specializes in briskly executed, on-the-spot Caricatures that will enliven the atmosphere of private parties, wedding receptions, bar mitzvahs, corporate gatherings, trade shows and special events.
The series of photos here are from a typical event, in this case a recent outdoor wedding reception at Lake Tahoe.
How it happens: All that's needed in a trade show booth or special event are two chairs (one for the artist and one for the subject) and the artist's easel (which Jeff brings).

While I was doing caricatures at a reception at Edgewood (South Lake Tahoe) a few weekends ago, a lady from Philadephia (the groom's aunt) got very upset.
I always put up samples of my cartoons and caricatures so my subjects (customers) will have something to look at.
One of these samples is an innocuous (not at all political) drawing of President Obama clipped to my easel.
