I'm Liza Head, aka Juniper Spring Photography, and I'm a fine art wedding and portrait photographer based in San Jose, California. I started shooting weddings in 2010, instantly fell in love and haven't looked back. As Juniper Spring Photography, I specialize in two things: weddings and portraits. My first love is documenting weddings in a natural way, focusing on candid coverage of joy, emotion, and relationships.
My second love, which I discovered a couple of years ago, is portraits of women. Photographing weddings, I get to be present and document a vitally significant and beautifully emotional day in the lives of two people in love. Photographing women in a portrait session, however, gives me a chance to utilize my creativity and fine art background to really celebrate my clients individually - who they are on the outside as well as the inside.
Getting to both document something meaningful and create something beautiful is deeply satisfying to my soul. While I'm based in San Jose, I love shooting all over the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, with a particular passion for beautiful outdoor locations.

The year was 2006.
I was studying art at UCSC, when I met a boy with a passion for urban exploring and a hand-me-down DSLR.
His name was Sean, and he taught me how to use the camera to document the world around me.
I was already an artist, but with my new technical knowledge, it wasn't long before I fell in love with photography and, from then on, kept a running record of our adventures together.
It was another chance meeting that led me to wedding photography.
Sean's sister Lauren got married in 2010, and at her wedding, the photographer encouraged me to participate.

The hubs and I have so many great memories, from snowshoeing in Tahoe to safari-ing in Africa, to biking the California coast, and I find I really enjoy working with like-minded folks who claim the outdoors as their wedding chapel.
