This is a talk I did about my DJ business at my referral group; Truckee Meadows Networking. It contains a lot of good information about all the things I do to help make your wedding a success. You always want to hire a DJ that is willing to meet with you for a consultation, to make sure everything is perfect on your special day. Over the years, I've seen lots of elaborate and expensive centerpieces at weddings.

Yes they are beautiful, but I've found that some of the most memorable ones are those that are inexpensive DYI centerpieces. I've often had people ask me if we we're going to get the chance to meet before their event. The answer is always a resounding yes. Everyone is a little bit different and have a number of different concerns and requirements for their event.

If you don't meet your DJ how will you know if he or she is the right person for you. Some people may need a DJ that is more of a nightclub DJ, while others may need someone to have strong MC skills to keep the event going.
Services
If you are planning a business or social occasion and are considering enhancing your event with a professional DJ and music service, selecting the one that will truly be appreciated by everyone is not an easy task.
I have been a DJ for many years and have worked with a wide range of age groups, and venues.
As my testimonials reveal, I am effective in most any setting and provide the customized services that will meet your needs and budget.
I have assembled a private collection of tens of thousands of songs from the age of swing to current day.
One of the biggest differences between a DJ and a band is the ability of the DJ to help organize an event and help it stay on schedule.
Whether its a wedding, company party, birthday party or vendor event, the DJ/MC plays an integral part in it's success.
This is one of the areas where experience plays a big role in the DJ/MC's ability to fulfill this job.
I have been a DJ/MC for over 20 years and have seen many scenarios play out in different events.
As a result, I can be very helpful in your event's planning and execution.
One of the first questions that I get from a potential client is how much and what kinds of music do I have.
I have been in the industry for many years and as a result have amassed a song list of tens of thousands of songs in all sorts of time periods and genres.
As we all know however, there are literally millions of songs out there.
This has become even more true today, with the advent of greater and greater digital technology.
It's not just the big record companies that are making music these days.
When I ask does your DJ have a backup, I am talking about his or her equipment.
First of all we need to look at what type of equipment your DJ has.
Is it professional grade or is it something that is used at home and just brought to the event.
If its not professional grade, that can be your first sign of a problem.
Venues can be drastically different and the equipment that the DJ brings needs to be versatile enough to handle different situations.
Sometimes the client will even need two completely different setups.
The biggest outdoor wedding mistake a couple can make, is not to have a backup plan.
It's easy just to "keep your fingers crossed" and hope that the weather is beautiful, but if the weather goes bad it can ruin your special day.
If there is no building to save you, consider spending the money to rent a STURDY tent for everyone.
Not only does that solve the precipitation problem but when that sun is beating down, people need somewhere to go.
Remember that your DJ needs shade also.
The equipment doesn't do well when the sun is beating down on it.
