Squawkbox Sound started in 2003 when a friend asked Russ to borrow his sound equipment for his sister's wedding. Rather than lending the equipment out, Russ instead offered to go and provide the sound and music services himself. While emceeing for the wedding, Russ was approached by another couple and asked to provide services for their wedding as well.
And from there two more couples, and soon it snowballed into the full fledged business that it is today! Although it started primarily as a Wedding service, Squawkbox Sound now travels all over the Wasatch Front, and beyond, making your events unforgettable!

From standing in the living room, pretending to conduct the orchestra as a toddler, to playing in multiple bands growing up, Russ has always had a love for listening to, making, and playing good music.
He got his start as a DJ in 2003 - DJ'ing for his friend's sister's wedding.
While there he met another couple who were impressed with his charisma and unabashed ability to engage the crowd, and leading a line dance when necessary, they asked him to DJ their wedding as well.
